The Expo is back and happens once again in Second Life and nowhere else. If you are interested, you might want to check out the finalists of the 2008 show here. Or you might hop right to their site and submit your own piece until Sept 30th. One detail that caught my eye was that

Could Machinima be part of academic tenure?

MLA are drafting ideas for how would-be academics could use digital work to apply for tenure.
Machinima is digital media-surely it qualifies?! To find out more have a look at their wiki. Unfortunately I did not see a reference to machinima, perhaps it could be suggested as an addition?

It feels like a boomerang really, like a seasonal disaster hitting. But as the question of art and games seems to transform itself gradually into something reasonable – one can run but probably not hide from it. So is machinima art? asks he rather uncomfortably. Again?
